James Gallagher will step into the cage on the biggest night of his fighting life when he takes on Anthony Taylor in the co-main event of Bellator’s first ever Irish show next month.

Despite his tender years Gallagher has already compiled a 4-0 professional record and will be looking to keep his 100% record intact on December 16th against Taylor and the training he is currently undergoing in preparation for the bout under the watchful eye of SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh is about as good as there is anywhere in the world.

Gallagher is one of a handful of top European prospects who call SBG their home who have all benefited hugely from Conor McGregor’s two most recent fight camps, where the likes of BJJ black belt Dillon Danis and nutritionist George Lockhart came on board as the camp embraced the latest advancements in sports science.

This approach has fed through to the rest of the team.

At just 20 years old, Gallagher has already compiled experience both in the cage and in the gym which is out of reach to most fighters, even those several years his senior. Much like Artem Lobov, Gallagher, a featherweight, has the luxury of sparring with the world’s best fighter in his weight class on a regular basis.

And judging by the video below, the hard work is paying off.
