Conor McGregor doesn’t just reserve his verbal barbs for fellow fighters.

Today NBA star Draymond Green attempted to have some fun at the expense of the UFC champion — despite mountains of footage to suggestit might not be the best idea — posting to Instagram that McGregor should remove a Golden State Warriors jersey.

“We rocking with Floyd bro not you,” Green posted. “Take that off bruh.”

What Green didn’t appreciate was that McGregor’s jersey was that of C.J. Watson, who played for the Warriors around ten years ago. The significance? Watson exchanged text messages with Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend Josie Harris, which reportedly caused Mayweather to assault her.

Mayweather pled guilty to charges of domestic violence following the incident, and served two months in prison. McGregor didn’t take long to correct Green’s mistake.

“That’s C.J Watson mate. I don’t know who the fuck you are,” McGregor responded. “No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school. Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.j when I don’t know or give a fuck about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid.”

So, while he might have gotten a few thousand comments telling him how silly he was to poke the UFC star, Green at least got an insight into how McGregor’s MMA opponents feel.
